Just wondering if anyone has been having trouble with packet loss? I've been having this issue for a while but it seems to be getting worse. I've had 5 technicians come to the house. On my third modem now and even the techs say it is nothing to do with that. Been told someone was going to come and check the lines on the hydro pole twice and nothing. Packet loss last night was hitting 35%

[INTERNET] Packet loss, latency, etc.
Hello all
Has anyone have any success with Cogeco fixing packet loss and latency issues? I see a few posts in this and the Direct forum regarding these issues and I'm wondering if anyone got anywhere with Cogeco other than "it's congestion, nothing we can do" answers.
I have been running Ping Plotter pretty much around the clock this week and for me it's not only an evenings issue but I see packet losses even in "off peak" hours.
I'm mainly looking for input to see if this is even worth fighting about or do I need to change providers so I can actually use the internet without getting frustrated.
I am attaching a couple pictures from Ping Plotter. One from afternoon and one from evening. To me that is not acceptable but maybe I'm expecting too much?
Thank you!

[INTERNET] What are the limitations on Coax?
I recently upgraded to Cogeco's Gigabit plan. All is well when they send us the new modem, plug everything in, internet! But when I run a speedtest I only get about 400mbps. Im running an ethernet line directly into the modem. I don't believe I'm on a shared line and this house was built in 2013. Any idea why the speed isn't budging. The only thing that comes to mind is Coax limitations. Any answer would help lots!

Need to provide remote installation help.
Discovered that Cogeco has had my mother on a $80 a month plan for 15MB service that she had installed years ago and never updated. She's now upgraded to their ultrafibre 180 service which requires Cogeco to send her a new modem and is going to do the self install due to covid. Which roughly translates to me assisting her over the phone from Ottawa (she's in Dundas).
She has TV, Internet & Phone with Cogeco, just wondering if anyone could tell me what modem they are likely to send her? CODA-4589? Are their other possible options?
I'm trying to get a sense of what capabilities are of the new modem so I can best walk her through what she needs to keep, or what she can lose of her old equipment.
Thanks.

[INTERNET] Port forwarding not working
Im trying to get this ark server going, I forward ports 7777-7778 and 27015. I do UDP and TCP to be on the safe side. I do multiple port checks on portchecker.co and a software I have on my pc. Nothing works, I even try connecting via in-game and nothing. Any idea on what I can do to resolve this issue?

[INTERNET] Gigabit Speed
Just got the gigabit speed upgrade. But all I can get is around 600 to 700 mps is this normal. Tested on speedtest and fast. Even in the morning all I could get is around 800mps always get 30mps upload so I guess that's good. Just wondering what everyone else gets.
Thanks

[TV] TiVo disconnected from power and Internet
My TiVo has been disconnected from power and Internet since Monday evening. Will it reset once it is reconnected? The reason it is disconnected is the outlet blew that the power bar is connected to. The outlet and the power bar are surge protected.

[INTERNET] Hitron 4589 Login with Bridge Mode
I just enabled my 1GB Black Friday service. The Hitron modem login worked initially, but the settings to switch to bridge mode wouldn't stick. A Cogeco agent made the changes for me remotely and the modem is now properly operating in bridge mode.
However, the login no longer works and I just get an error "Login Failed. Access denied".
I'd like to be able to login to the modem to check on WAN connectivity status when needed. Unfortunately I've had more than my fair share of outages in the past and going into the diagnostics page for my old Thompson modem was my first step in figuring out what is going on.
Is it normal that I'm locked out of my modem's admin when in bridge mode?

Arris TG3452 Puma chipset issue
We've been having the intermittent brief disconnection issue for a few years and have had everything possible replaced or repaired. I believe that the problem is the Intel Puma chipset. My issue is that this seems to be a known issue with Arris modems but nobody has ever mentioned it as a possible issue during the numerous tech calls. Why is that?? Anyone else experience this issue?

Another cluster with our friends at Cogeco
So here is the long and short of it - hoping someone can chime in and possibly assist in this case:
I had the Arris modem and 380/30 service from Cogeco with Tivo. I had no problems - everything worked great for 5+ years.
The last 3 weeks - the Arris kept acting up and had to be rebooted multiple times. Called it in.
Tech shows up today and installs the Hitron 4589 modem. Tells me it can also be bridged just like my old Arris. My service is still 380/30 - no upgrades there.
I tried bridging the modem in the GUI interface, but as soon as I do, it reboots and then goes back to un-bridged full router mode with Cogeco WIFI turned on.
So I call tech support and ask them to bridge the modem for me - they refused saying that I need to be using their modem, their router, and their WIFI with their TIVO and MOCA. I told them I haven’t used MOCA for years and had TIVO running on the LAN, TIVO was fine, streaming with TIVO was fine, and that I have my own $400 router with my own settings, my own disk stations, video surveillance system, and a VPN running on it - to no avail. They won’t budge. They’re sticking with their crappy router, and their TIVO MOCA set-up - and will not let me bridge their modem.
What in the ^#@% is the issue? I asked to escalate this - but the answer will apparently be the same - tech support on the phone told me I’d be lucky to even get a call back from tier 2 support on something like this.

[INTERNET] Cogeco DHCP errors and lost connection
HI,
I have been having a recurring problem with Cogeco DHCP services that I cannot seem to resolve and hope I can get some insight here. The problem first started when I upgraded my service to their gigabit service and had a new modem installed. I also acquired a new router for the service, because of work from home restrictions I could not use the Stock Cogeco modem/router. When the Cogeco modem was installed it was provisioned and configured into bridge mode to allow my router WAN to face the internet directly. Shortly after I started getting disconnected from the internet, the router interface would state “Your ISP’s DHCP does not function properly”. The router has DHCP query settings in the WAN settings of Normal, Aggressive and Continuous, have tried all three and still get randomly disconnected from the internet sometimes 2 or 3 times per day requiring reboot of the router or modem or both. I contacted Cogeco and they remotely reset the modem and restored bridge mode which did not correct the issue. I replaced the patch cable between the modem and router with a certified Cat 8 cable, updated the firmware on the router to manufacturer latest all to no avail. I have two identical routers that I use in an AI mesh configuration I have swapped the primary and node and still have disconnects. The routers are ASUS RT-AX88U models, I have disable WIFI 6 protocol as have read some issues with that. Firmware is version 3.0.0.4.384_9579-g5362374. The modem is an MODEM: ARRIS Model: TG3452/CG P/N: TG02DAE3452. My Basic network topology is from RG6 -> ARRIS Modem -> ASUS RT-AX88U -> Netgrear 24 port gig unmanaged switch -> hardwired computers printers etc. Wifi IoT devices as well. The AI Mesh node is connected vis ethernet to the primary. I have reached out to ASUS as well and provided them with router SYSLOG and Config file but with COVID they have been really slow to deal with.
I was speaking with a work colleague and just happened to mention this issue and was shocked he had been having the same issue. Also with Cogeco, also recently upgraded to gig service and also using an ASUS router different model. After about a month and a half and having his issue escalated several times he received an email from Cogeco that they believed they had resolved his issue and sure enough the problem did not recur. He could not however tell me what they had done. When I conveyed that to Cogeco tech support it was sort of brushed off and stated resetting the modem would be the starting point.
Just wondering if anyone out there has heard of similar issues with Cogeco and can provide any troubleshooting ideas / solutions?
Thanks
Dave

Fiber
Fiber cable is getting closer to my home; they are installing it in the ground a block and a half from my house now. When fiber goes by, do they run fiber cable to your home, or use your current cable? The cable box is at the end of my front yard, and RG11 runs from that box to my home.

Bridged TG3452A has webUI now
I signed up for a package awhile ago, probably almost 2 years ago, that required a new modem, which the tech installed a Arris TG3452A. The one annoyance I had with it was I couldn't access 192.168.100.1 like my other one could (I forget the model of that one.. but it was a Arris 8x4 DS3.0 modem with single band wireless N.. in bridge mode).
I woke up this morning and my internet is down. First thing I do is attempt to login to pfSense just to see if it is that (it never is so far). I see WAN interface has a 192.168.100.x IP.. whaa? I never seen that since my old modem. For the kicks, I navigate to it in my browser.. it pops up the webUI for the modem. I rebooted the modem and the internet started working.... guess what?.... 192.168.100.1 still works with the internet also working.
There must have been a recent update that caused this to start working with this modem. I am not complaining, I am happy I can finally access it....
