Hi Marcer,
I am in Cogeco area in Quebec and I just bought a DCM476 modem from Kijiji to activate with Ebox.
The guy selling the modem told me it was used with Teksavvy, and as the DCM476 is available only in Cogeco area in Quebec I was sure is has the Cogeco TPIA firmware, STAC 2.50.
Once I received the modem, I was surprised to see that the modem has the STAC 55.10 firmware, the Videotron one. I ASSUME he gave Teksavvy the modem as being a DCM475 and he got a ride for a while.
Now, when I'll activate the modem with Ebox in the cCable Quebec area, is Cogeco going to push the right firmware (STAC 2.50) and make the modem work? Similar with what Videotron does ...
Or I am screwed? (because this modem model is not allowed in vCable, even with the right firmware)
Thanks,
Kodi
