I noticed the Arris DCX3520e-M is listed in their user guides section on their website? It isn't listed on the Receivers section though.
Has this box been around for a little bit or is it new to Cogeco?
I hope it's new to them. I still can't believe they are forcing any TV customer that wants to record something to the TiVo product which in turn FORCES them to take Cogeco internet.

[TV] TIVO remote station not connecting
Cogeco customer service is getting pitiful. My elderly parents for two weeks have been having issues with their TIVO service. For nearly two years no issues at all but now this ...
The TV in the bedroom freezes and pops up with message unable to connect. This is the TV my mother watches her shows on. My 87 year old father, after an hour on hold for technical support, he finally got someone who walked him through resetting the main box in the living room and the small TIVO remote box in the bedroom. They placed him on hold to come back to him, while things completed but no one came back. The line went dead after 30 minutes.
He called again waiting on hold for more than an hour. He had to go through the whole process again resetting everything from square one. This time they stayed on the line. When the remote TIVO did not connect the technician did additional troubleshooting and said that they needed a new remote TV box. They waited 8 days for someone to come onsite. BUT the technician onsite said they didn't need a new box. He replaced the same connection at the wall that gets replaced EVERY SINGLE TIME they have service from Cogeco. This seems to be the standard panacea for all service troubles. It did connect and the technician left ... but you guessed it 10 minutes later it stopped working.
They called again and was on hold again for an hour, went through the process again but no connection. My father insisted a technician come back but was not given a scheduled date. He was told they are the top of the queue. He called to get a date today after waiting on hold again. The bedroom TV is intermittently connecting plus now the living room TV is freezing up. Here is the kicker ... Cogeco now tells him they had no record of a service being scheduled and it could be over a week before they can be onsite again.
My parents are besides themselves. Being in their 80's TV is very important to them. They don't go out much. My parents live in a large condo with bulk residential rates with a 40 unlimited package. I went over today and reset everything including the modem for their internet. Tested out everything and it worked but did generate an error message briefly connecting. It recovered. Looking at the messages I can see lots of errors. My mother is happy but not 15 minutes later I get a call from my mother -- it's gone again. She is now crying over this. The security guard I spoke to at their building said A LOT of people are currently experiencing issues with their Cogeco service. He knows one of the technicians personally and will try to reach him. My parents have been Cogeco clients since the 1970's. They shouldn't be treated like this.
I know Cogeco personnel assist people here ... is there anything you can do to help?
Is there a way they do not have to go through the trouble shooting steps each time? Can't the same trouble ticket be left open while the problem is ongoing?

Slow Upload Speed
Recently my internet has seemed sluggish. It seems to work fine most of the time but sometimes things just dont seem to work properly..
I did a speedtest and I am getting great download speeds ~~ 117.43 Mbps.. which is on par with my 120 Mbps subscription; however, my upload speeds are in the range of 0.1 --> 0.17 Mbps. which is slow considering I should and used to be getting closer to 10Mbps. I just did teh speedtest today; however, I noticed this problem about a week or 2 ago... Anybody else having issues? If it continues I might have to get a tech out. I haven't called COGECO yet - will give it a few more days.

Not Happy With Cogeco for the First Time in 7 Years
I've been with Cogeco for seven years now. For the past three or four years I call them up and they offer me some solid discounts, provided I agree to stay with them for 6 months, or 12 months - whatever it happens to be.
I've been somewhere in the $160-$180 range for quite a while, and I recently signed up for another new promo. I swear they told me it would increase my bill by $7 a month (taxes included) and my last bill is now at $215.
The part that miffs me a bit is that the Ultra Fibe 60 Plan has been listed on my bill for ages at $89.99. They usually take $20 off that with the promos. All of a sudden, this package is listed at $109.99 on my bill - even though it's listed at $89 on the website!
I'm not cool with the increase of $40 a month, especially when they have me paying $20 more for internet than the regular price they post online. Their staff say "but you're getting $20 off, so that's really regular price you're paying". Okay, so I just locked in for 12 months to pay regular price?
I'm very close to switching over to Teksavvy and using a VPN. $215 a month is crazy, and I can't believe they aren't willing to do anything, especially since I just spoke to someone a month or two ago who said my bill would increase $7 -- not $35
I've tried the loyalty department twice and I just feel like I shouldn't have to constantly have to call in and keep track of everything to get a good price on this stuff.

[INTERNET] 0.03Mbps upload speed again
Again my upload has up and run away, I contacted support Late April about this,
I was given an appointment to come replace my modem DID NOT show,
I called and asked why was told I should have never been told that unless I had NO service,
Thanks a day spent waiting for someone to come and nothing, the only good thing was, for the first time in over 3 years I got a new I.P over night , got good speed both up and down,
Untill last weekend and upload dropped to next to nothing , again tonight upload of 0.01Mbps
guess I am not going to get a service call because I do have service???

Cogeco and The Movie Network GO
I've been noticing lately that TMN GO has been unavailable due to the Cogeco account section simply not working. This has been happening off and on for several long months now, seemingly at random times, too.
Does anybody know what the heck is happening over at Cogeco, and why it's affecting my ability to watch TMNGO? Any ETA on when this mess is going to be fixed?
Here's a pic of what I see when trying to login.

[INTERNET] Price history for Cogeco Ultimate 250 package - Business Internet
Hi!
I recently found out that Cogeco has been overcharging my small business by as much as $90 per month. They have been billing me $219.95 instead of $129.95 based on the current published rate for above service with 3-year commitment non-bundled.
I have been a Cogeco customer for 10+ years but was told that they can only refund equivalent of 2 months overbilling, since apparently I can only dispute bills within 60 days. Lesson learned!
They also said that the price drop happened only earlier this year.
I'd really like to find out:
1) Since when and by how much they have actually overcharged me
2) Do I have any other choice aside from accepting their 2 months offer for credits?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Tivo Online
So I use to be able to connect to my Tivo online from either home (on my LAN) or from outside via the Internet. I cannot any longer. It says I have no connected devices even though I can see my Tivo on Tivo's website under devices as connected and I can access my Tivo via Cogeco's Android app on my cell phone. Before I waste hours, can anyone else confirm if this is a new issue for them as well. Possibly a new 'feature' added by cogeco. I'm not sure we were ever supposed to be able to access our Tivo's this way but we could. And it was very handy for programming recordings away from home etc. If you can confirm if this still works for any of you that would also be helpful.

Cogeco Speeds - Consistent or No?
Was just on Live Chat with Sandeep from Cogeco and he mentioned that Cogeco's cable speeds never dip, EVER. Of course, I was skeptical of this because of, well, reality.
I am currently with Cogeco reseller Vmedia (120Mbps) and they've been fine for years, but every night during peak time, my speed is reduced by about 75%. I've read of Vmedia traffic shaping so...I was wondering if going directly with Cogeco would improve the speed issue during these times since they are the line owners. Other possibility is Start.ca, who I've considered for about a year now off and on, with their great reviews.
So I guess my questions are:
1) is there any truth the Sandeep's claim, or am I right in assuming it is front line chat BS and,
2) would going with the line owner (Cogeco) help, or is their service literally the same as Vmedia/Start/etc.
If I've omitted any info, let me know and I'll fill in the gaps.
Chat pasted below:
Sandeep at 13:33, Aug 29:
The most popular plan at this moment is the ultrafiber 120 unlimited for just $70/ month for 12 months
Sandeep at 13:34, Aug 29:
But if you shose to bundle services like a home phone or tv then it would be $60/ month for 12 months
Chris at 13:34, Aug 29:
This is cable internet, correct?
Sandeep at 13:35, Aug 29:
It would be fiber to your local node and then cable to your home.
Sandeep at 13:36, Aug 29:
The good thing about Cogeco is that we assure that you get the specified speeds at your home
Chris at 13:36, Aug 29:
So it will be 120 down 24/7, no slowdown at all?
Chris at 13:36, Aug 29:
Not even during peak times?
Sandeep at 13:37, Aug 29:
Yes, that would be accurate. Literally any time i check the speed at my home it would be 120Mbps
Chris at 13:38, Aug 29:
Hmm, interesting
Chris at 13:38, Aug 29:
Is there a timeframe for FTTH in my area?
Sandeep at 13:40, Aug 29:
As of this moment, i dont have any information regarding that. But there are plans on upgrading the speeds to 1gig around oct in some new areas
Chris at 13:40, Aug 29:
Do you know what areas these would be? (trying to see if they are nearby)
Sandeep at 13:41, Aug 29:
That would be kingston, Halton, Hamilton and the Burloak areas
Chris at 13:42, Aug 29:
Ah okay
Chris at 13:42, Aug 29:
How much is the 120 after promo period ends?
Sandeep at 13:43, Aug 29:
The 120 would be $95/ month regular rate, but after the promo period you can always call loyalty and get better insider offers
Chris at 13:43, Aug 29:
Okay thanks for the info

Cogeco tech install no show - twice!
For a second time the Cogeco tech does not show up to install cable and internet. I am at wits end. This is two days given up from work. The tech couldn’t find my address and “called”, though he absolutely did not call.
Best they can do is ANOTHER 8-4 window next week. I am livid, to say the least.
I would like contact info for the office of the president if possible.

[TV] Huawei DC730 DTA adapters stopped working?
Hi,
We received a pair of these digital to analogue converter boxes when our "Value" cable package switched to digital, which have work well for years now.. until recently. Last month one of our boxes stopped working suddenly, with the TV showing no input signal. Reconnecting the power the LED flashes for a second before turning off with no further sign of life or TV output. We decided to just unplug that box and leave the one in the bedroom, which still worked. That is until tonight, when similar to the other box, we lost signal on it. Reconnecting the power LED briefly flashes, then goes dark.
I tried to do the equipment reactivation step from My Account, but that apparently shows "We’re sorry. The service requested is currently unavailable. Please try again later." and the apparent lack of life leads us to believe these boxes may have finally bit the bullet, or perhaps entered planned obsolesce..
What gives? Is anyone's little Huawei DTA box still working? Does anyone still have theirs? Can we even take these to a Cogeco store to replace, or would they want us to switch packages.. rent new receivers with fancy guide menus on them.

[INTERNET] Watered Down Gig Packages - What gives Cogeco?
https://www.newswire.ca/news-releases/cogeco-connexion-enhances-its-gigabit-offering-in-ontario-markets-692173431.html
I was excited to see that Cogeco put out a press release that they had the capability to offer Gigabit services in Burlington. I checked out the website and the service is now listed as 1Gbit/s down and only 30Mbit/s up. What gives Cogeco? Previously the Gigabit service was advertised as 1Gig up and down. This new offer, for the same price, is really only an incremental upgrade from any other DSL/Cable package out there. With literally everything moving to the cloud having a faster upload speed is a must for most households. I work from home and my company does everything in the cloud so a 1Gig connection would have been amazing.
Hopefully someone from Cogeco reads this and can offer some information around the decision and if there will be a full 1Gig up/down package in the future.
